China's car production sets record
Car production in China grew 52.1 percent in November from the same month last year to a record 291,900 units, breaking the previous record set in June of 275,100 units, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Friday.

China's Auto Trade Keeps Surplus
The latest statistics indicate China's auto trade volume kept a surplus in the first four months of 2005, after the last quarter of 2004. First made-in-China cars sent to Europe
Japan's car-maker Honda Motor Co yesterday started to ship its made-in-China cars to Europe with Germany as the first destination. This is the first time cars have been exported from China to Europe. Honda plans to export 10,000 units of the Jazz hatchback to Europe this year, it said.

Hyundai to set up US$1.2b China truck venture
Hyundai Motor's second attempt to enter China's truck and bus market will deepen the company's foothold in the world's third-largest vehicle market. South Korea's largest automaker aims to boost vehicle production in China to 1 million units -- or a fifth of its global output -- by 2010.

Profits in China's auto sector slumped
Profits in China's auto sector slumped by more than half in the first four months of this year due to sluggish sales, tumbling vehicle prices and mounting costs, according to an industry organization.

Schneider Electric has set its sights on becoming No 1 in China's building automation market. Already the world's leading provider of power distribution and industrial controls solutions, Schneider hopes to expand its business in China through partnerships with local companies, and acquisitions.
